This is a trip of a lifetime ! ! You’ll board your flight from Shreveport to Fairbanks. There is a 2 night stay in Fairbanks. Relax and get ready for your Alaskan Adventure. Feel the frontier-friendly atmosphere of Fairbanks on a leisurely cruise down the Tanana River aboard the sternwheeler “Riverboat Discovery”. Highlights include a visit to the Chena Indian Village and the home of Susan Butcher, three-time Iditarod dog sled race winner. You’ll even see an Alaskan bush pilot in action and visit an Alaskan gold mine. Enjoy a scenic rail trip to Denali National Park aboard the Midnight Sun Express domed rail car. Tonight, you’ll have sweet dreams as you enjoy the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Enjoy a tour of Denali National Park, featuring Mt. McKinley, and all of its abundant wildlife. Your afternoon is free to explore on your own or take an optional rafting, hiking or flightseeing tour. Next, you’ll travel to McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge with its grand views of Mt. McKinley. The next day you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to Anchorage. The next morning you have a narrated tour of the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation on you way to Whittier along Turnagain Arm, through the beautiful Kenai mountain range before arriving at your ship. Your ship sails in the evening as you begin your Alaskan Cruise. Enjoy an unforgettable day of cruising into College Fjord (named for the Ivy League Universities) with its sixteen gleaming glaciers cascading to the sea. You’ll cruise this peaceful world where the silence is broken only by huge chunks of centuries-old ice crashing into the sea. Next, you’ll enjoy the spectacular views as your Princess ship cruises past dramatic Hubbard Glacier in Yakutat Bay. You’ll have a full day to explore the gold-rush history of Skagway while making a port of call. A variety of optional shore excursions are available, too. Juneau (another port of call) is the site of Alaska’s first gold find, but today it’s the capitol of the 49th state. Surrounded by glaciers and boasting small town charm, there’s plenty to do and see here. Visit the Mendenhall Glacier, shop for gold nugget jewelry and native crafts or take a flightseeing tour over the nearby glaciers. Our last port of call is Ketchikan, the salmon capital of the world. Be sure to go ashore to explore this city built on trestles, pilings and docks. A stroll along Creek Street, the notorious “red light” district, is reminiscent of the gold rush days. Take time to visit the world’s largest collection of totem poles at Saxman Village and watch the native carvers at work. Finally, you can relax in the luxurious surroundings of your ship as you cruise the scenic waterway, the Inside Passage. You’ll arrive in Vancouver, British Columbia, CN and transfer to the airport for your flight home. This tour requires a valid Passport. The price is TBA because the Air rates change daily.
